This on-campus class offers an introduction to auto mechanics. Instruction emphasizes auto tune-up, cooling system repair, diagnosis, minor engine repair, introduction to electrical systems and on-board computers, smog checks, lube and oil change.

AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES
Get advanced training in the transportation industry and automotive mechanics including auto engine overhaul, front end suspension & alignment, transmission, smog controls. On-the-job training may include an auto repair shop, auto parts store, or engine rebuilding shop. Prerequisite is a minimum of 1 year auto shop at the high school level or approval of the instructor.

ACCOUNTING
Get hands-on training in the preparation of payroll and financial statements, posting journals and ledgers, preparing business financial statements and money management. Job opportunities may include bookkeeper, payroll clerk, accounts receivable and/or accounts payable clerk.

BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURSHIP
Business Entrepreneurship is a two-hour simulated business class that is set up and run by students. The students determine the nature of their business, its products and services, its management and structure and learn the daily operations of a business. Instruction focuses on marketing research, advertising, buying and selling products or services, business accounting including accounts receivable and payable, wages, business taxes and loan applications. Students will be using current business software packages and the Internet for business transactions.

BUSINESS OPERATIONS & MANAGEMENT

A+ CERTIFICATION TRAININGOver six thousand computer businesses and manufacturers have established an international standard called A+ Certification. Many of the leading manufacturers are now requiring A+ Certification for service technicians, support staff and technical consultants. Enrolling in this course allows the student to gain the skills and knowledge needed to take the A+ National Certification exam; get a job in the computer field as a computer repair technician computer assembly, or tech line support; and prepare to climb the ladder to success by continuing training for high-level certification.

Develop skills in animal care, animal grooming and general veterinary clinic procedures. This course provides prerequisite work experience for admission to Animal Health Technician programs & Schools of Veterinary Medicine. SPORTS MEDICINE CAREERS
This course will prepare the student to take the exam to become a certified member of the American Athletic Trainer's Association. Instruction will include anatomy and physiology, prevention and care of injuries, nutrition, equipment fitting, and may include on-the-job training with local high school sports teams, physical therapy clinics, or fitness centers.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
This on-campus class provides entry-level training in drafting and computer-aided drafting occupations. Instruction emphasizes software utilization through the development of projects.

ADVANCED ELECTRONICS
This advanced course offers an opportunity to train with engineers and other technical personnel employed in local businesses. Hands-on involvement in electronics experimentation and circuit construction takes place in a laboratory environment. As a prerequisite, students must have successfully completed the R.O.P. Basic Electronics class or equivalent, and have a solid math, computer and physics background.

CONSTRUCTION FUNDAMENTALS/TECHNOLOGIES
Learn the principals of construction design using blueprint making, reading, and CAD. Get hands-on training in basic construction. On-the-job training may be with an engineering firm, architect, contractor, sub-contractor, construction supply or other related business.

DIGITAL VIDEO
In the Digital Video and Animation class, students will learn how to edit and produce digital video for traditional media and use. Additionally, they will learn how to create animation for use on the Web and other multimedia. Included in this hands-on class will be the study and application of photographic, cinematic and animation techniques. Fundamental concepts of communication and art will be incorporated into individual and team projects that build the student’s portfolio. Career Preparation Standards are integrated throughout the curriculum, which includes basic academic skills, communications, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology and other employment skills.

VIDEO PRODUCTION
In this on-campus class learn to operate video cameras, editing and sound equipment as well as create computer graphics and special effects, and produce professional-quality videos and cable TV programs.
