R.O.P. IS:

- Sponsored by the Placer County Office of Education, the State Department of Education and the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Office.
R.O.P. PROVIDES:
- Career preparation through classroom and on-the-job training

- Entry-level job training in areas where local employment exists
- Upgrading and/or retraining of job skills
- Preparation for higher-level traiining or education
- Job seeking skills
YOU CAN EARN:
- A Certificate of Completion and Skill List
- High school credits applicable to graduation
- Community College credits
- Fulfillment of pre-requisite work-experience hours for entrance into certain impacted college programs
WHO MAY ENROLL?
- Any adult
- Any high school student 16 years or older currently enrolled as a junior or senior
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE:
- HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: See your counselor.
- ADULTS: Most classes start twice a year. See the ADULT ENROLLMENT section from the main home page.
FEES:
- There is a $75 adult registration fee per class (for most classes) per semester (payable when accepted into the class).
- There may be book/materials fees or deposits for each class. Vaccinations at the student's expense may be required.
CLASS DURATION:
- Most classes are 2 or 3 hours daily for either one or two semesters.
- New students are accepted for the spring semester as space is available.
LOCATIONS:
- Classes are located at various sites throughout Placer and Nevada Counties. A listing of all the locations can be found within the CLASS SCHEDULE section from the main home page.
- On-the-job training takes place at over 500 businesses in the two counties.
